Overview

Shekel Exchange for iPhone and Apple Watch is designed to work without an account, advertising, analytics, or a developer-operated server. The developer does not collect personal data from the app.

Data stored on your device

Expense lists, including descriptions, notes, tags, exchange-rate snapshots, your most recent converter amount and currency pair, app preferences, and attachments are cached locally for offline use and synchronized through your iCloud account when available.

Attachments you select, scan with the camera, explicitly paste from the clipboard, or send to the app through the iOS share sheet are copied only after your action and are never uploaded to a developer-operated server. When you explicitly export a list, the app creates a temporary archive containing that list's data and attachment files and presents it to the iOS share sheet; you choose its destination. Importing an archive copies its list data and attachments into the app's normal local or iCloud storage.

When you preview a PDF or image attachment, the app may temporarily analyze it on-device to detect QR codes and barcodes. Detection results exist only in memory while the preview is open; no separate extracted-code files are saved or uploaded. Attachment files are available in the app's folder in Files and iCloud Drive.

The Apple Watch app stores its own last successful rate snapshot for offline conversion. That public rate snapshot may be synchronized from your connected iPhone. Expense lists and attachments are not transferred to the watch.

Camera

Camera access is optional and requested only when you choose to scan a document for an expense. Scanned pages are converted to a PDF attachment and may be synchronized through your iCloud account. The app does not upload camera images to a developer-operated server.

iCloud synchronization

When iCloud Drive is available, the app uses Apple iCloud Documents to synchronize expense lists, descriptions, notes, tags, saved historical rates, and attachments. It uses iCloud key-value storage to synchronize app preferences and the converter's last amount and currency pair. A local App Group mirror keeps the widget and Share Extension working quickly and offline.

Apple processes this data under your iCloud account and privacy settings; the developer cannot access it. If iCloud is unavailable, the app continues with local storage and synchronizes again when possible.

Network services

The iPhone app contacts the Bank of Israel public API directly to download representative currency rates. Apple Watch can receive the same public rate snapshot from your connected iPhone through Apple WatchConnectivity or contact the Bank of Israel API directly over an available Wi-Fi or cellular connection. The app also uses Apple iCloud when synchronization is enabled for your account. Those services may receive standard network information needed to answer the request and are governed by their respective privacy practices.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes subscription purchases, offer-code redemption, and payment information under your Apple Account. The app uses StoreKit to present Apple's offer-code redemption sheet, receive signed app and subscription transactions, use the verified original app-download date and version to determine automatic free-week eligibility, verify whether access is active, restore purchases, and preserve permanent access for eligible legacy users. Verification occurs on-device. The app does not persist the original download date, receive payment-card details or offer codes, or send transaction history to a developer-operated server.

Tracking and sharing

The app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell or transmit your personal data to the developer.

Retention and deletion

You control locally stored data. Deleting an expense after confirmation also deletes its extras and attached files. Deleting an expense list after confirmation deletes every expense, extra, and attached file in that list.

For new expenses in lists without dates, optional automatic deletion is enabled by default and can be turned off per expense. When the app is used after the final payment reaches the configured monthly debit date, an expense with that option enabled, its extras, and its attached files are deleted without another confirmation. Adding dates to the list cancels automatic deletion for its expenses.

Detected QR or barcode previews create no separate files; their in-memory results disappear when previewing ends. Deletions may synchronize through your iCloud account. You can also move or delete attachment files in Files or iCloud Drive; doing so may make them unavailable inside the app and synchronize the change. Deleting an app installation removes its local cache but does not necessarily remove data retained in your iCloud account. You can manage the app's iCloud storage in Apple system settings.
